Kimaio Park Andalusians
The Horse Husband's Perspective ... the story so far

October 2010

Hi my name is Frank and I am a horse husband. Prior to marrying Katrina 10 years ago a horse to me was something

that you bet on on Melbourne Cup day. Now I know a bit (excuse the pun) more about horses. On this page I have been given free reign (another pun - sorry) to give you an idea of what goes through the mind of a horse husband......

October 2010 The joys of foaling.

7am and the foal alarm has gone off. Another false alarm. We have 2 due at the moment.  Foal alarms, those wonderful foal savers that are a necessary evil for any breeding stud. They are saved a few foals (and mares ) over the years for us. Also I guess it is much easier to be woken for 'a few' false alarms than to go out and check a mare several times a night.

But you know what I hate. Its 3 am. the foal alarm goes off . You look out the window and the mare is laying down. You rush outside only to be confronted by a big fat pregnant mare snoring away!! I hate that. But that's life when your a horse husband...   to be continued ...
